I see everyone, so far, has flocked to John's blog. I have a 13 year old daughter that has played soccer since U5 and wanted to comment on your blog. <BR/>I think you covered how the opportunity for girls came about very well. I wanted to comment on the cultural aspect of why so many girls are playing. Our culture, fortunately, has become very accepting of women in almost every aspect of sports, business, community, etc. When we first signed our daughter up for soccer, we thought nothing of it (along with 1000's of other parents). My guess is that it is not exactly like that in every part of the world and may never change. We should all appreciate the many opportunities that we have in this country...<BR/><BR/>R.
